Age of Domain should not be overlooked in your SEO analysis - as it can be a key influence in determining rankings - Jim Boykin has an excellent article on the subject http://www.jimboykin.com/seo-new-site/ (also have a read of the talkbak to check out the wide ranging user views on the subject!!).
Whilst domain age will not kill off SERPS completely - we’ve had many a site produce search results whilst still being reactively new - I think it does matter when you start aiming for the more competitive keyword market and as such you’ll for those of you with new sites you’ll need to mitigate the issue with your SEO strategy.
